Darien Rowayton Bank Announces Executive Hire Local Community Bank Names New Chief Executive Officer Darien, CT, July 23, 2010 – Darien Rowayton Bank announces the appointment of Albert L. (Bert) Knotts as Chief Executive Officer and Director. He will have overall responsibility for the Bank’s strategy and growth of the community and mortgage banking businesses. Mr. Knotts has over 25 years of banking, and regulatory experience and is returning to Connecticut where he was previously the Chief Credit Officer of the Union Trust Company of Connecticut. Most recently, Mr. Knotts was a founding partner of Strategic Risk Associates, a bank consulting and advisory firm working with community banks, regional banks, and finance companies. In addition, Mr. Knotts previously held executive level positions with Capital One Financial Corporation, PNC Financial Corporation, Dime Bancorp and Wachovia/First Union/First Fidelity Bancorporation. Mr. Knotts started his career in banking with the US Treasury as a bank examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Mr. Knotts holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. Darien Rowayton Bank recently announced its commitment to lend $80 million to homeowners and small businesses in an effort to strengthen the flow of credit in the community.
